OUMS Auditions 23/24

OUMS runs nine ensembles, of which five (OUO, OUPhil, OUSinf, OUWO and OUJO) are auditioned, with four non-auditioned ensembles (OUSE, OUChorus, OUBB and OUSB). Of the auditioned ensembles, OUO, OUPhil, OUSinf and OUWO are auditioned centrally through OUMS. OUMS auditions will take place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October (Sat of 0th Week and Sun of 1st Week - the weekend of Fresher's week). All candidates will be expected to perform a short piece, or excerpt from a longer piece, aiming for around 3 minutes in length. You will be stopped after 4 minutes! The audition will be unaccompanied, but a piece originally with accompaniment can be played. You'll also be given a short extract to sightread, and have an informal chat with the panel about any musical experience and preferences you have. Candidates will hear back about the outcome of their audition within a few days.
